Since its inception in 2024 during our private beta phase, the MevaSearch icon has been an integral part of our digital identity. Over the years, this original version has grown into a highly recognizable symbol of our search engine, largely due to its minimalist approach and unique character.
The Evolution of the MevaSearch Icon
The Philosophy Behind the Symbol
At the core of our visual identity lies a modern, digital representation of a seagull. The concept stems directly from our name, "Mewa," which means "seagull" in Polish. To make the design stand out and highlight our innovative approach, we replaced the traditional form with the letter "v". This typographic choice not only represents Mewa in a modern way but also visually symbolizes the seagull's beak. Ultimately, we wanted a design that can be easily recognized and represented by a simple typographic shorthand: ( · v ).
There is a deliberate choice in the design of the bird's eyes. The right eye is deliberately missing because it is closed, serving as a powerful metaphor for our privacy-first philosophy. It symbolizes that MevaSearch does not look at your entire digital footprint; instead, it looks only at the technical, necessary data required for search functionality, ensuring your personal privacy is respected at all times.

The Next Generation
The new iteration of the MevaSearch icon introduces a fresh, modernized version of our original design while maintaining its core DNA. We have carefully refined the geometric shapes and adjusted the color palette to align perfectly with our updated user interface, creating a cohesive and polished user experience.
The new icon supports dynamic theme switching: it is available in both light and dark variants. When users toggle between dark and light modes, the website's favicon automatically shifts to match the theme.
Furthermore, the introduction of a crisp blue border and vivid blue elements accentuates the modern, forward-thinking nature of our search engine. The distinct orange beak remains a focal point, ensuring optimal readability and recognition on any display.
